Make good decisions with your money

Today we welcomed a special guest into kura. His name is Garry. He is a money man that works at the ASB. Today he had a lesson with us in class, and he was talking about how some people and other people spend there money wisely and dumbly. We had this really cool game about spending money wisely. We all got into separate groups and he gave each group $1200. We had to spend our money on a holiday, flights, motel, food, insurance, passport and more. This game taught us to spend our money wisely and never use a credit card because at the end of the day you have to pay a bill. Did you know that if you don't pay the money you borrowed on the credit card, then you would have to pay more than what you actually have to pay. So here is an example...

You got to pay for a new sofa/couch and you writ the payment you had to pay on your calendar and then a few months or weeks later you forgot. Now what will happen is that the place where you bought that sofa from will charge extra money onto the actually payment.

Yes that is just the unspeakable but just remember to always never borrow money of your credit card.

So while we were playing the game he gave each team $1200 so the first thing we had to pay for the holiday was the flight. If you wanted to you could go on the premium flight or the 1st class but here is the twist, if you were to go on the premium flight then you would have to pay $300 but if you were to go on 1st class then you'll have to pay $500. Me and my buddy decided to go with the premium class because we didn't want to pay more than $300, but my buddy decided to go with credit card and we didn't know what was about to happen. Down below are the rest of the things we had to pay for.

Passport - $100
cash

Motel - $100/ $300/ $500
We chose $100 credit card
$200

Food - $200
Cash

When we were near the end we were piled with money but let's remember that when you borrow money you have to pay it back. So if me and my buddy used credit card and borrowed money for the motel and plane and we were overdrawn and didn't pay our money back that means that we have to pay more then the original price. So that means that we had to pay back $400 for the plane and we had to pay $200 for the motel.

At the end of the day we ended up with $200 but the main thing was that we had to have fun because all of the money we saved to go on a holiday was spent on things that we wanted and that's what we wanted to do, we wanted to have fun with the money. So if you ended up with $400, $300, $200, $100, or even none means that you spent how much you wanted on your holiday. Remember that you could spend that money because it was your savings money. Down below are the results of how much money each group ended up with

Group 1 : $0

Group 2 (Me) : $200

Group 3 : $0

Group 4 : $200

Group 5 : $100
